Pulitzer Prize winner Horton Foote’s stunning range as a dramatist is evident in Harrison, TX: Three Plays by Horton Foote. Foote explores the humor, darkness, and romance of the people of the titular town in these works: Blind Date, The One-Armed Man, and The Midnight Caller. Kicking off our season, these plays demonstrate Mr. Foote’s powerful insight into the human comedy. Pam MacKinnon (A Lifetime Burning at Primary Stages) directs.

In the tradition of great American plays, Daisy Foote explores the institution of the American family in Him. Two siblings struggling to keep the family store afloat must decide which is a priority: their father’s final wishes, or their financial stability. It’s a choice that could tear them apart. This searing drama will receive its world premiere at Primary Stages, directed by Evan Yionoulis (The Violet Hour on Broadway).
20TH ANNIVERSARY PRODUCTION:
For the third installment in the season, Primary Stages will revisit a play that helped to put both the company and the now-celebrated playwright, David Ives, on the map two decades ago.

Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters Primary Stages is pleased to present the 20th Anniversary revival of our hilarious 1993 play All in the Timing. When it premiered, Vincent Canby of The New York Times told audiences to “Drop-everything-and-go! Spread the word!” This new production marks the first major revival in New York City since our original premiere. John Rando (The Toxic Avenger Musical, Tony Award® winner for Urinetown) directs this overdue revival.

THE FINAL PRODUCTION OF THE PRIMARY STAGES CURRENT SEASON:
The Primary Stages 2011/2012 season concludes with the New York Premiere of the new play, The Morini Strad by Willy Holtzman, now playing through April 28, 2012, Directed by Primary Stages Founder and Executive Producer Casey Childs, the cast features Michael Laurence (Krapp39, Broadway’s Talk Radio, Opus at Primary Stages), Tony® nominee Mary Beth Peil (“The Good Wife,” “Dawson’s Creek,” The King and I), and celebrated violin soloist Hanah Stuart (Chicago Symphony, Zankel Hall). The limited engagement runs through April 28 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. Opening night is April 3rd.
Inspired by the true New York story of concert violinist Erica Morini and her legendary Stradivarius violin, The Morini Strad is a delicate duet between Erica, a difficult former child prodigy, and Brian, a stubbornly independent violin maker she hires to restore and then sell her beloved Strad. As Brian makes the arrangements, the question of what will become of the priceless instrument threatens to destroy their unexpected friendship. Through classical music and fiery confrontations, Brian and Erica must face the choices they’ve made about their music and their lives.

CELEBRATING A FAMILY’S LEGACY:
American playwright and Pulitzer Prize winner Horton Foote has been forever immortalized by a legacy of plays, including the Primary Stages production of Dividing the Estate which subsequently transferred to Broadway and received two 2009 Tony Award® nominations including Best Play and Best Supporting Actress for Hallie Foote. His legacy continues with the start of our 28th Season, which kicks off with an evening of Horton’s short plays and continues with a world premiere by Daisy Foote, Horton’s daughter. Hallie Foote will appear in both productions.
