Boulder's Upstart Crow Theatre Company is pleased to announce our 33rd Season (2012-2013). Boulder’s Upstart Crow has a
long tradition of bringing plays of depth and substance to area theatregoers.
The 2012-2013 season is an exciting mix of drama, humor, insight, inspiration,
and character.
The season opens with The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams’
hauntingly poetic tale of longing and disappointment inspired by Williams’
memories of his beloved sister. Performance dates are August 31 through
September 8.
In A Woman of No Importance, Oscar Wilde takes aim at the
social mores of Victorian England that ostracized a “fallen woman” while
allowing the man who tripped her up to walk free. A Woman of No
Importance plays November 30 through December 15.
Caesar and Cleopatra by George Bernard Shaw plays February 22
through March 9. Shaw’s version of the relationship between the man who
conquererd most of the known world and the naïve young woman struggling for
control of the tumultuous Egyptian empire is full of backstairs intrigue,
conflicting wills, and Shaw’s views on statesmanship as Caesar tries to mold
Cleopatra into a leader.
The season closes with William Shakespeare’s perennial favorite, Henry
V, the story of the conquest of France by one of England’s most popular
kings. Love and battles, humor and drama, and some of the most inspiring
speeches Shakespeare ever wrote. Performances will be May 24 through June 8.
Boulder's Upstart Crow performs in the The Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590
